Southern California Youth Alliance was formed with the goal of providing vital personal growth programs and supportive services for Southern California’s disadvantaged and at-risk youth.

Our Programs

opening doors of opportunity
...for youth of all ages

Innovation at its best.

SCYA utilizes expertise in the development and construction of affordable housing to help our troubled youth in two distinct ways:

1. Use development revenues to privately finance our mission to provide supportive services for troubled youth.

2. Provide educational, entrepreneurial, and internship program opportunities through our construction projects.

Our Projects

Hillside Apartment-Homes

Hillside Apartment-Homes is a 3-story low-income multi-family housing development near the intersection of 53rd Street and El Cajon Blvd. Located near San Diego State University, our team found a problematic, sloping infill site and successfully designed a quality 18-unit apartment building. Currently under construction.

Colony Park Residential Community

Another example of our team’s ability to solve problem sites, Colony Park is a 38-unit apartment complex designed on a site with irregular shape and numerous development constraints including easements, right-of-way encroachments and severe slope. Using innovative ideas including geo-grid retaining wall technology, we have succeeded in gentrifying this area of La Mesa by providing a high-quality complex with 4 affordable units. Currently in progress.

Rolling Hills

This 34-unit affordable housing project set in Fallbrook was designed with the idea of providing housing to families of veterans and low-income individuals in North San Diego County. Set on a mildly sloping site, this project features a tiered building structure, open, sizable units with private yards and decks, and a 1,337 square foot community center with a pool/spa and BBQ area. Currently in progress.

Rowhomes at Madison & Hamilton

A 4-unit rowhome development in the North Park area, this is a contemporary 3-story development designed for the budding young professional. Minutes from central San Diego, Downtown, and Balboa Park, these high-end units feature open floor plans and large balconies on all floors with appealing interior designs. Currently under construction.

Youth Development Programs

While providing support for youth who desire to participate in continuing education, SCYA will also provide vocational training programs such as YouthBuild, which offer the kids hands-on job training in various real estate and construction industries.

Real Estate Development

By providing an all-encompassing scope of real estate services including architectural design, project management, feasibility analysis and consulting, entitlement processing, market studies, and construction management, we are able to raise capital that aids our goal of providing assistance to troubled youth.

Transitional Housing Programs

Our main objective is to provide a Transitional Housing Program for displaced foster youth. These full-service housing facilities provide subsidized housing, job and educational counseling services, financial planning assistance, and other services to help integrate these kids into society.
